Appointments of Megan Knapp and Nicole Smith strengthen BWZ’s investment in audience growth, events, and vendor partnerships
Vancouver, British Columbia – April 2026 – Black & White Zebra (BWZ), the media-tech company behind brands like The Digital Project Manager and People Managing People, today announced the appointment of Megan Knapp as Head of Events and Nicole Smith as Director of Audience.
These hires reflect BWZ’s continued investment in building deeper relationships with its audience — and expanding how it serves both professionals and the companies that support them.
BWZ has built a strong foundation through high-quality content that helps professionals succeed in their work. The next phase is about building on that foundation — creating more direct, engaging, and valuable experiences for its audience, while offering more integrated ways for B2B SaaS vendors to reach and support those professionals.
At the center of this is Revleads, the SaaS marketing platform, which connects vendors with its professional audiences. As BWZ expands its audience and engagement through newsletters, podcasts, events and community Revleads is evolving to enable vendors to build visibility, generate pipeline, and run coordinated growth programs across the platform.
Megan brings deep experience building and scaling events businesses at leading media organizations including Digiday, Business Insider, Informa, and most recently Newsweek.
Across these roles, she has launched and grown event portfolios from the ground up and scaled marquee programs such as Women’s Global Impact, Digital Health Care Forum, and the AI Impact Awards & Summit — developing commercially successful programs with strong sponsorship models, high-impact programming, and repeatable formats designed for senior executive audiences.
At BWZ, Megan will lead the development of a zero-to-one events business, creating flagship C-suite experiences and a scalable, multi-format portfolio that drives revenue, insight, and community.
Nicole joins BWZ from Harvard Business Review (HBR), where she played a central role in audience growth and editorial distribution at scale. Her work spans editorial strategy, newsletters, video, and live programming — building audience-first systems that turn complex ideas into widely distributed, high-impact content.
She has co-authored books with HBR Press, hosted executive interviews and podcasts, and contributed to broader conversations on platforms like WorkLife with Adam Grant.
At BWZ, Nicole will lead how the company grows and activates its owned audiences across brands — strengthening distribution, deepening engagement, and building systems that convert attention into long-term value.
”These are foundational hires for us. We’ve built a strong content and audience platform. Now we’re expanding how we engage that audience — through newsletters, community, and events — and how we help vendors connect with them through Revleads in more meaningful, integrated ways. Megan and Nicole bring the expertise to help us do that at scale.

Together, these functions strengthen a system where content builds audience, audience drives engagement, and Revleads converts that attention into measurable growth for vendors.
